There are two ways you can set up a server to function, although only one works for larger parties:. And since one person at your party the person at that machine experiences no lag while everyone else is suffering, it can lead to some real bad blood in a competitive environment. I use servers in Listen mode and I never have problems with them. Why are you so hard on nondedicated servers? Parties with eight or fewer people can most likely get by with a server in listen mode, assuming the server is a fast one. Ok, I fear my Googling powers are slowly fading away. I've been looking for a solution to this issue for 2 days now, and I can't think of anything. I'm in charge of setting up a game server that will host Battlefield game no mods or expension packs for now. The server is running on Linux and the game does work properly. I've never really played the game myself, so my knowledge of it is limited. The problem is, I only have the "Deluxe Edition" of the game, which comes with the first expension pack in the box. I've disabled the expansion in the server settings and when I browse the game servers list using the built-in server browser , I see my server as a standard server, with no mods or Expension enabled.
